Energy & Climate Round Table at the town of Rheinfelden (Baden)
Together with Lord Mayor Klaus Eberhardt and other members of the administration, representatives of the district and external experts, various topics such as energy and resource efficiency, the utilisation of industrial waste heat and prospects for hydrogen supply were discussed in depth.

Declaration of intent
At the end of the event, all participants signed a joint declaration of intent. With their signatures, the companies confirmed their willingness to support the town in its goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2040 and to implement appropriate measures. The district, represented by Ulrich Hoehler, welcomed the initiative and emphasised that the town of Rheinfelden and the companies involved are taking on a pioneering role for the region.
Great response
Climate Protection Manager Louisa Freytag was delighted with the great response to the round table with the companies. ‘It was an open and interesting exchange that will hopefully open the door for further discussions and collaboration,’ was her impression. The discussion showed that the future of hydrogen supply in industry will play a particularly relevant role in the coming years.
Synergies
‘We are of course aware that our companies themselves are already actively working on climate issues,’ explained Lord Mayor Klaus Eberhardt. With a view to the next 15 years, however, we need to work together even more closely and utilise synergies, he appealed.

As its next campaign, the city is inviting companies to an information event on Monday, 3 February for the so-called KEFF+ Check at the company Fensterbau Hässler. The free check helps companies to identify potential savings in the areas of raw materials, materials and energy.
