Green light for state-of-the-art extension to the Logistik Park Hochrhein
Since 2013, Grieshaber Logistics Group AG has been operating the Hochrhein Logistics Park, ideally located at the motorway border crossing to Switzerland. Currently, 25,000 square metres of logistics space are managed there.
A groundbreaking ceremony on 23 September 2025 marked the start of construction on an additional highly specialised logistics building for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. The new building in Rheinfelden-Herten is being built by the Grieshaber Logistics Group with a general contractor.
f.l.t.r.: Ulrich Wörner (WKB Projektmanagement GmbH), Toni Elbert, Christian Moog, Jens Kunstein (Köster Bau), Ulf Tonne, Kurt Grieshaber, Oberbürgermeister Klaus Eberhardt (Stadt Rheinfelden), Inge Grieshaber, Andreas Grieshaber, Katja Tonne-Grieshaber
The extension comprises 14,000 square metres of logistics space, which will be used to provide high-quality logistics services for the demanding pharmaceutical and healthcare industry from the beginning of 2026, in the ‘ambient’ temperature range (15°C to 25°C), in the refrigerated area at 2°C to 8°C, in the frozen area at up to -20°C and in the ultra-frozen area at up to -80°C.
‘With this construction project, we are sending a clear signal that we are meeting the current and future requirements in pharmaceutical logistics,’ explained CEO Toni Elbert. ‘We are investing specifically in technology and infrastructure that meet the highest standards in terms of quality, safety and sustainability.’
The building – sustainability meets innovation
With the extension in Rheinfelden, the Grieshaber Logistics Group is sending a strong signal for future-oriented and responsible corporate development. The new hall combines ecological and economic aspects and is being built in accordance with the strict criteria of DGNB Gold certification – a mark of quality for sustainable construction.
Particular attention is being paid to energy efficiency: state-of-the-art technology such as automated packing lines, innovative conveyor systems and advanced robotics systems ensure smooth processes while reducing energy consumption. The entire infrastructure is designed to conserve resources and control processes intelligently.
Another milestone is the further integration of electric trucks and the corresponding charging infrastructure at the Rheinfelden site. Grieshaber is thus creating the conditions for low-emission transport logistics and making an active contribution to reducing its carbon footprint.
The extension is not only an investment in additional capacity, but also a clear commitment to sustainable growth and technological excellence. This will continue to actively shape sustainable, innovative and modern logistics!
