GRIESHABER CUP 2025

12 years ago, the idea was born to organise a two-day active tournament to celebrate the inauguration of the artificial turf, which was completed in autumn 2012, in July 2013. At that time, the tournament was still called the SV 08 Cup.

Just one year later, the tournament was dedicated to honorary president and main sponsor  Kurt Grieshaber on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

The popular and successful tournament took place for the 11th time in 2025 and was once again a sporting success. With the teams FC Basel U 21, FC Mulhouse U 19, SV Weil (Landesliga) and SV 08 Laufenburg (Verbandsliga), the tournament once again had a top-class line-up. With FC Basel U 21 and SV 08 Laufenburg, the two strongest teams reached the final.

In contrast to the last 10 years, when the weather was always summery and the temperatures were high, it unfortunately rained during the final. Nevertheless, 250 spectators watched a fast-paced and high-class match in which the young professionals of FC Basel U 21 deserved to win 6:1, but the score was a little too high according to the course of the match. The Basel coach and former professional, Mario Cantaluppi, praised the SV 08 Laufenburg team for a very good performance and will be happy to return to the Waldstadion with his team for the next Grieshaber Cup in 2026.

The Grieshaber Logistics Group supports SV 08 Laufenburg with its 350 youth players and the three active teams.
