Grieshaber expands its range of services to include customs services and gains new customers at the Biebesheim site
For our customer, one of the leading science and technology companies in the fields of healthcare, life science and performance materials, we were able to create considerable added value through our involvement in the customs area at our Biebesheim location.
The customer's requirement was to combine goods from different destinations with different origins in one warehouse. By mapping all individual customs processes in a process diagram, starting with incoming goods, through warehousing, to outgoing goods, all process stages were made transparent and the customer was able to view the entire customs process in detail and clearly structured.
The result of this process diagram was the application for and approval of a depository warehouse and the subsequent transfer to the bonded warehouse approved by us. This means that goods from third countries can now be delivered duty unpaid to our warehouse in Biebesheim. The customs clearance of the goods and the associated duties are only incurred when the goods are commissioned by us and forwarded to the end customer. By obtaining various authorizations, such as the so-called "simplified customs declaration" for exports and the status of "authorized recipient" at the responsible main customs office, there are no waiting times for the delivery of goods. This means that the deliveries can be made directly in the warehouse and the goods do not have to be declared in advance to the responsible customs office. Furthermore, by applying for storage of customs goods together with EU goods, a much simpler storage is possible. The resulting consolidation of different warehouse units creates various saving potentials for our customers.
