Optimal control and significant increase in transparency for the supply chain

Our customer has a clear focus on highly innovative, technically leading medical products in the field of ophthalmology with a family-oriented corporate culture. They offer high-quality solutions for surgeons and clinics and improve the quality of ophthalmic care. In Germany, all German centers are supplied directly.

 

In order to meet the requirements of industry 4.0, Internet of Things and digital networking, Grieshaber Logistics Group AG uses a specific web portal solution which digitally brings together the processes in the operative business. This enables optimal control of the processes, independent of the systems involved. The configurable portal software offers maximum standardization, flexibility, integration and evaluability and, with integrated data management, ensures smooth cooperation between all partners in a supply chain.

This GLG web-based SCM portal was also the essential building block for successfully implementing and digitally networking the requirements of the new customer in the shortest possible time. In addition to the creation of goods receipts, goods issues and returns by the Customer Service in the SCM portal, the customer also has the option of evaluating the current inventory and making status changes directly (e.g. urgent blocking for quality-related reasons). All entries are transferred in real time to the Warehouse Management System (WMS) by the software's data management. Thus, the customer has sovereignty over the availability status of his stocks at all times. In addition to the status of the customer order in the WMS, the customer service can also track the order after dispatch via the tracking link of the parcel service provider. Optionally, the documents generated by Grieshaber can be digitally attached to the respective objects (e.g. delivery note for the shipment) for retrieval by the customer. This saves the need for time-consuming extra administration or re-scanning and ensures the smooth and gap-free documentation of the processes right up to the archive status.

The Grieshaber logistics SCM portal can be adapted quickly and individually to the business processes by the IT experts in our company, is flexibly configurable and integrates the data exchange with other partner systems optimally.
