Successful implementation of a "Kitting & Packaging Project" at Logistik Park Hochrhein

As already announced in May of this year, we were able to win a new customer from the medical technology sector, more precisely from the "Human Milk and Healthcare" sector, for our location in Rheinfelden. For this customer, who operates worldwide and whose products are distributed in over 100 countries, we are carrying out a so-called "Kitting & Packaging Project".

What does that mean exactly?
Kitting" is the compilation of sets, which are put together to form a package or a "kit". Packaging" comprises the packaging logistics of the article.

In the Logistics Parc Hochrhein, kitting is handled for two product variants with different country presentations, such as the enclosure of flyers or instructions, based on customer orders. For the handling of this project, a specially designed packing line was set up in the production area, which is 100 per cent geared to the high demands of the medical and high-quality products. The focus was clearly on process efficiency.

In the manufacturing area, the individual article components are assembled into a kit, packed, sealed, labelled and shipped. The new project was successfully integrated into the existing "multi-user warehouse structure".

The project team is pleased that we were able to win this customer for Grieshaber Logistics Group AG and that the project was successfully implemented.
