Sustainability with vision
Sustainability is no longer just a project for the Grieshaber Group, but a central component of its corporate strategy. In view of increasing regulatory requirements and rising market expectations, sustainability is firmly integrated into the corporate strategy, with the clear goal of assuming responsibility for society and the environment.
An important step in this direction is the preparation for the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This EU directive obliges companies to produce standardised sustainability reports, thus placing sustainability reporting on a par with financial reporting. The focus is on the principle of ‘double materiality’, which takes into account both the company's impact on the environment and society as well as the financial risks.
Although the Grieshaber Group is not currently subject to CSR requirements, it began early on to lay the necessary foundations for transparent and well-founded reporting. These include:
- A detailed double materiality analysis that identifies the most important sustainability issues for our company and our stakeholders.
- A comprehensive stakeholder analysis that incorporates the perspectives of our stakeholders.
- The systematic collection of relevant data – from energy and emissions figures to social and governance aspects.
This data forms the basis not only for CSRD reporting, but also for strategic decisions in the interests of sustainable corporate development.
The progress made by the Grieshaber Group is already visible: the improvement in the Ecovadis rating and the award of the Ecovadis silver medal confirm the company's commitment.
Another milestone was the successful ISO 50001 certification, in which the processed energy data played a central role. It confirms the systematic work to improve energy efficiency.
For the Grieshaber Group, one thing is clear: sustainability is not a trend, but an integral part of shaping the future.
