Value-added services from a single source!

A partnership and trusting cooperation in the area of automotive logistics has already existed since October 2017 with a leading global manufacturer in the automotive industry, which specialises in mobility technologies such as camera systems and autonomous driving. In autumn 2020, the services were expanded to include "customs services". From the beginning, the aim has always been to further expand and deepen the cooperation and to create the greatest possible added value by exploiting synergy effects. Optimisation potentials are continuously discussed and analysed.

The result of this permanent search for optimisation is now the takeover of the so-called "customs services" since autumn 2020. In order to take over this complex topic and to bring about a smooth implementation that transitions seamlessly to the day-to-day business, the cooperation was intensively expanded on further levels. A major advantage was that, due to the existing logistics business, an enormous amount of knowledge was already available in advance.

Strategically as well as operationally, the project was planned in detail and implemented "just-in-time". The two areas of responsibility "logistics and customs" now flow optimally into each other. It therefore goes without saying that a logistics service provider is predestined to take care of customs clearance. Processes, structures, goods knowledge and customer-specific concerns are known and can therefore be taken into account accordingly.

As part of this service expansion, Grieshaber not only takes on the operational tasks, such as carrying out import customs clearance, processing consignment confirmations, transaction list checks, intrastate declarations or invoice verification from third countries, but also provides support with strategic tasks. These are, for example, the request, monitoring and issuing of long-term supplier declarations, export control, support with procedures in the context of customs permit applications and the continuous auditing of processes by means of key figures.

We are pleased that Grieshaber will now be integrated even more deeply into the customer's value chain by expanding its range of services, and will thus continue to be available as a strong partner in the supply chain.
