Values lived at grieshaber
For decades, management theory as well as practice has been talking about mission and vision; in addition, especially in the past, the "mission statement" for business enterprises has made a name for itself in German-speaking countries.
Admittedly, not everyone sees the need for such internal corporate exercises. Former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt once said that people with visions should go to the doctor. This is probably more the pragmatic and flexible politician than the economic expert speaking.
However, a reality-based and lived mission statement has enormous potential for a modern organisation. In our development towards a modern and flexible logistician, the supply chain has moved to the centre as the object of information as well as goods flows. Our understanding of processes and information flows defines us as a partner to our customers and illustrates our competence in this context. Thus, we have created the following sentence as the mission statement of Grieshaber Logistics Group AG:
"We create sustainable added value from complex logistics requirements with added value with competence and 100% passion! - YOUR SUPPLY CHAIN PARTNER"
With this mission statement, we clearly specify the demands we place on the services we provide.
As a strong and reliable logistics partner in the supply chain of our customers, we orientate and measure ourselves by their requirements and needs and see this as an essential part of our self-image. We understand the goal of our actions to be the generation of sustainable customer benefit, which translates into real added value for our customers. Continuous striving for quality and innovation are both our claim and our drive. This is our Grieshaber DNA in action!
But how do we meet this standard internally and at the same time ensure that values and orientation in our dealings with each other are maintained and lived?
THE VALUES OF A COMPANY
Values are ideas about characteristics that are attached to things, ideas, relationships, etc. by individuals or social groups, and which are important and desirable to those who value them. Values manifest themselves in norms and rules that anchor the values in the organisation and give them concrete expression.
Values, norms and rules are the organisational basis of our corporate culture and also serve as internal orientation.
Standards and rules for our organisation have been attached to these values. For example, the value "Pioneering spirit and innovative strength..." is based on the norm that both are demanded of our employees and that we also give our employees room to do so.
Underlying the value "We encourage and challenge our employees" are the norms of.
■ Leadership via goals and results
■ Demand for independent action
demand for personal development form the basis.
These are implemented via the following corresponding rules:
■ Obligation to participate in the "Grieshaber Academy" development programme.
■ Further development is part of the annual target discussion
Commitment to annual employee appraisals
The following four values complete our mission statement and shape our corporate culture:
- We work for economic success, thus securing our future.
- We actively live change.
- We are an independent family business.
- Customer benefit is the goal of our trade.
